I'm not frustrated to see this because Gene Simmons was in it for the money, not for the art. :P He gave people what they wanted.

Gene is an entertainer. He"s not a the best bass player but he is a good one. Only real Kiss fans who heard his bass playing from the early days knows he's good, not among the best. I'm a bass player and it's not easy to entertain, sing and play bass at the same time. If gene sucks, people would not have bought the albums. He's a legend but people who can't handle that notion. The millions speaks for itself. Millions of fans and money.

@nastymonsters2 the reason why they put the makeup back on is because they're all about the money and stage show. the reason they took the makeup off was because they needed to make a drastic change to fix their dwindling popularity. however, eric carr and bruce kulick are two of the most talented players they ever had. any true kiss fan would know that. eric carr is one of the greatest drummers of all time, let alone kiss' best drummer of all time

@nastymonsters2 what just cuz gene's a mediocre bass player doesn't mean this wasn't a kick ass lineup. Bruce Kulick on lead guitar and Eric Carr on drums. c'mon man

This would be appreciated so so soooo much more if we were all there to experience the deep vibes coming through the floor and off the walls, that's what makes a mediocre solo a great experience.
