or electric... you DO know there's electricity just like on any other house, right? only in this case... it's gathered by solar panes and wind turbines. So, you CAN have an electrical stove.

where do they get the gas from for the gas stove?

some of them use limited propane.. I think most of them have some propane as an energy back up b/c New Mexico drops to 30 below in the winter - so in case you had an emergency..

I wouldn't use aluminum cans in construction, but I love the concept of re-using materials for constructing a building that is efficient and self-sustaining. I think they look better than the stick boxes that most people seem to live in. Right now I live in an inefficient uninsulated 200+ year old house. I would love to be able to build an efficient house from old tires and other recycled materials.
