After a group of original civil rights activists, called The Council of Elders, passed the torch of activism to the Occupy Wall Street movement during an action on Nov. 20, the activists re-grouped at Washington Square Park for a candlelight vigil and march to Duarte Square on near Canal street.
The square is owned by Trinity Church and also partly by the city. OWS is petitioning to be allowed to re-form the encampment here.
This video is a projection that was being shown on the wall of an apartment building across the street from the square.
If you are so inclined, please repost. Please contact Trinity Church and respectfully request that they grant sanctuary to the OWS movement in order to continue the the amazing and creative work that is being generated by these courageous Americans. This is what democracy looks like.
Sorry it's so dark.
