Normaly they knew when somebody was in the house but jeah anne wrotes a lot in her dairy that the van daans were to loud.

Anne's the loudest one of them all. In reality they had to be invisible day and night because not only the workers but the neighborhoods all around. The buildings are right next to each other in Amsterdam.

bombers in the air. brings back memories from back home having to shut off all lights and kneeling against the walls so that when the bombs hit, you are less likely to be killed.
