The Gene Krupa II Orchestra was formed in 1999 as a tribute to the late Gene Krupa. It is licensed by Gene Krupa's nephew, Gene Krupa II, to honor the memory of his uncle. Many of the arrangements that the orchestra performs are from Gene's original book of band charts.
The orchestra is a 14 piece dance band, but can go out as a smaller group upon request. Whether playing a dance or concert, the crowd really enjoys the tribute to the Big Band Era" that the band does; featuring music from the bands of Benny Goodman, Harry James, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, and vocalist Frank Sinatra among others. Dale DeMarco ,co/leader, plays saxophone and clarinet, and also does some of the vocals. Roy Anderson, co/leader, plays the drums and also acts as the publicity representative for the band.
