This video is not "stand-alone." It's a clever gag about a promised technology, the Electric Energy Storage Unit ("EESU").

The EESU would revolutionize our technology, making green, long-range, swiftly rechargeable cars practical and economical. But the promise has been hanging fire for years, and many people are skeptical as to whether it is anything more than hot air.

The video's hilarious only if you know these things.
