So you have a document that you want your viewers to be able to download from your Joomla-based Content Managed web site - That's Great! Here's a short tutorial to walk you through the process of uploading the file and linking to it in an article. After the basic demonstration we will review some of the more common problems that come-up when performing this basic task.

  • @elmaliante88 A simple link will tell the browser to download the full file and start playing it - which works fine for very small videos. For larger videos it takes too long to download the file before it can start to play. The easy way to post large videos to your web site is to load the video into a service like YouTube and use the Embedding Code provided by the service in your Joomla pages.

  • does this link setup work if i want users to download video files such as mpg and mp4. after waching your video i tried it with an mpg but the page keep loading for a long time and nothing pops up.
