awesome, i had to rename 124 folders that started with a year, but i wanted to rename them to a short year name from 2004 to 04 and from 2011 to 11, i did like 20 one by one and that took me 10 minutes, but with this it took me be about 5 minutes for the 124 folders including building the automator thanks to you, thank you very much.

@RavenousSky Trying to completely rename the file names similar to Windows, where you type "Picture" and they are all named "Picture" with a different number after.

So this can't rename the files... only add text before or after the current file names?

@Adel1163 There's nothing to download. Just open Automator on your Mac. It's in the applications folder.

Thank you! I'm pretty novice but this is just what I need to batch rename pictures that came off the camera with the same file names as the last ones off the camera.
