A tutorial showing the quick way of reproducing one of Warhol's most iconic styles.

  • When I open GIMP the menu you have on the right, ie for editing layers etc does not appear. I just have the tools box menu and the photo canvas area so I am stuck for editing the layers. How do I get that menu to appear, it used to appear, but for some reason it has stopped appearing! Thanks!

  • Ctrl+L

  • do you have a tutorial on how to rotoscope in GIMP?

  • Rotoscoping is an animation technique. GIMP is not an animation package, and although you CAN do very basic animation with GIMP, rotoscoping anything significant would be a huge pain.

Having said that if you combine my tutorial on Roy Lichenstein Pop Art (the one with the busker) with the colour cycle gif tutorial, you should be able to figure out how to rotoscope a short animation.

  • Great video, but I'll just stick to the less-amazing version created by the Gimp G'MIC plug-in. 5*

  • Each to their own...I've always preferred getting my hands dirty :)

  • Hey, Malgalin,

If you go to View > Snap to Canvas Edges, you won't have to worry about lining up the images perfectly. They will snap into place.

  • I don't have GIMP, I have Adobe Photoshop cs2. I tried it with Photoshop and it worked well, I did have to improvise a little bit, but thank you!

  • @Nevermore2007 when the save as dialog box appears there is a option below which reads as select save as file type (extension) here choose the jpg format and it will ask you to export before saving.

  • Thank you for the video. (I've used this a lot, it is very fun.) I would like to make a tutorial request. I like to put hats and/or wigs on people, the only problem is that the result is not nice. It doesn't look like it should be there. It doesn't look realistic. Could you make a tutorial that focuses on this?

Thank you and I hope you continue with your gimp videos.

  • Thanks a lot! I'm a newey Gimp user, Your tutorials are very nice and simple to follow.
