get a prismacolor WHITE colored pencil.. (they are ROUND and have 'SOFT" lead to them) Get a prismacolor (or better YET Derwent) WHITE pencil (hex shape, these are "HARD" lead in them). Next get either corrective liquid (white out) or white gouche (that's water color TUBES that are very thick). use pencils first, large area for soft, hard for small areas, then the "hotspots" use the white out or gouche to get the SPARKLE highlight effect.

how do I know all this? 5 years graduate from Industrial design program. Otherwise not too bad a video.. maybe need more light.

#5 you should NOT need to use blenders.. if your doing markers the right way you can get gradations that over lap and give that effect.
I would suggest you give COPIC markers (originals which are square shaped profile) a shot. I like AD markers too for the saturation of colors and how "juicy' they are ..but in europe and asia they are using primarily copic.. not to mention they are refillable with the same exact color. (or can custom mix them). Copic markers also have airbrush adaptors.

#3 Try using a fineliner (one from say Copic would be good) and then colored pencils (I recommend Derwent but I 'suppose" prismacolor if you want)
#4 Use a soft (non abrasive) hand rag folled over to a pad size that you rest your hand on as you draw or color. This keeps your skin oils from contaminating the paper surface as you'd be VERY surprised how often they show up from ink or pastels.

A few tips..
#1 Start off with a UNDERLAY, a prelimary drawing that you did on any opaque paper, and it can be in pen or anything dark enough to see through the marker paper. Don't design as you render, rendering helps to colorize a design close to the "final" product for presentation
#2 you should be going from DARK to LIGHT as what this does is your establishing FIRST the darkest portion of the product. Hence you don't have to keep building up to get to that dark color if you do the opposite.
