Bat For Lashes 'Lullaby' (Cure cover) @ De La Warr Pavilion 19 Feb 2010

"Spooky", in Natasha's words here, is about right for this thrillingly creepy arachnophobe's nightmare of a song, which I reckon she really does justice to with this full-blooded & blood-curdling performance.

BFL's biggest hit 'Daniel' poaches the bass line from The Cure's classic (indeed debut I think) single 'A Forest' to great effect. Perhaps to dodge accusations of plagiarism (or God forbid even a lawsuit like Coldplay recently had to contend with over 'Viva La Vida'), she released her own truly excellent cover of 'A Forest' as a B side to her vinyl release of 'Daniel', almost as if to defiantly nail her colours to the mast.

Think I'll post you my favourite promotional vid for the site, namely YouTuber karp821's 'Bat For Lashes Death Metal Disco Scene' (not the best title IMHO, but his excellent vid speaks for itself...).
