Whistling actually hurts cats ears, thats why they are reacting the way they are. Remember their hearing is on a much much higher level than ours and your whistling is hurting my ears so imagine what its doing to theres!

i played this and my cat jump up ! HAHA
They're probably meowing because the whistling hurts their ears. My cats will do that if I'm playing my flute or harmonica (high notes) in the same room.
