Update 11/17/2009: If you want to know the story and don't understand Japanese, I would highly recommend checking out Honyakusya's video in the Video Responses. He did a pretty decent job making sense of it.
Update 3/16/2010: Having some response problems, so here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3GnqNG9poU

Now that I finally have my computer back, again..., I set out to do this first for two reasons. First, it was fresh on my mind. Second, it works well to have all the Nanaya Arcade Mode runs from the different parts of the series all in sequence. Third, this was much harder to make, especially in the editing part, than the Heavens Feel stuff, so I wanted to get it out of the way first.

Note that, besides playing with an extremely small preview screen in my capture program (which I am a bit used to now thanks to already making my few Fate/Unlimited Codes videos), my preview window was lagging like crazy for some reason (strange considering it never did that with Fate/UC). As a result, it messed me up in lots of ways, like in my ability to count reasons.

On a more serious note, though I was impressed with Actress Again as a whole, I'm not so much with Nanaya's story. It's pretty lame compared to most of the other characters I've gotten around to playing with. Even the random joke stories felt more interesting (both of the Neco Arc paths, School Uniform Akiha, Miyako, etc.). And Ryougi's story, cool enough as it was, would've been friggin' epic if they had actually let me fight Archetype-Earth at the end after the badass conversation they have during her ending credits (ending with Ryougi's line, "Here I come--I can kill anything that exists, even if it's a god!" [roughly translated different from how TakaJun did the same line for Kara no Kyoukai 3 because it fits the situation a bit better]). Possibly more on that once I get around to doing a video of her Arcade Mode.

I was originally going to show off Full Moon Style Nanaya, since it's the most different from his previous incarnations, but I settled in Crescent Moon (most similar by far) simply because I needed to be good with him to get Ryougi Shiki to appear. Now, I was doing much worse than I normally do on an actual television with Nanaya (where I normally get Perfects left and right), so I didn't really get my real goal done here. You see, her appearance depends basically on your number of Perfects up until that point. If you've only got a couple, she appears in Crescent Moon Style (with an AI that is already tough enough if you're playing with a character you're unfamiliar with). If you have more, she appears in Eclipse Style, which is like boss mode, with an insane AI on top of that. Personally, I've only been able to defeat that version with Crescent Nanaya.... And I don't think I could've done it here with my problems seeing what was going on.

  • Aww. Why did you have to use a different coloured Nanaya? One epic part about him was his blue uniform and brown hair (or is it grey-ish? I'm near clour blind godammit).

  • @ryaneoh Because what's awesome varies from person to person. Although... uniform and hair color? Seriously?

Also, no version of it could be considered "epic." Methinks you've heard that word overused way too much lately and have forgotten what it actually means. "Epic" is NOT just yet another word for "cool" in the massive list of words that mean basically the same thing. Its meaning has a much grander scale than something that can be reduced to something like that.

  • Xer a little question if you would see Roa for the first time without playing Tsukihime or MB what would you think of him? Is that guy a pianist? A popstar? etc.

  • @selemanecu It's hard to say, since it's not like I've ever been in that situation... but I'd have to say, hey, it's one of those stereotypical flamboyant long-haired anime main bad guys.
