  • The grip that is on the image is the same as using samurai sword or Chinese long sword, you have to hold the staff similar to the sword, your pinkeye is almost below the end & griping it at the butt of the staff.

    You eventually hold that position for a short time in the middle but thats the hold the entire time, it is not easy and takes a lot of strength on three fingers, wrist and your forearm that needs to be strengthened.
