  • Superb! I don't understand why I found this masterpiece now and not 40 years ago.

    You are Great, Otaku-san!

  • シュワルツ"アローン・トゥゲザー"の快演!~ポール・デスモンド&ジム・ホール~評価なんかいい!~このアルトの音に身を置く! ナイス! #jazzm

  • Beautiful track. State the melody, blow, state the melody, a little tag and out. Classic jazz. I love the way Jim Hall lays out for Paul Desmond's first chorus and comps so discreetly for the next two choruses. The guitar solo is a marvelous mix of single notes and chords and much space. Lovely swinging lines by Eugene Cherico on bass and Connie Kay's transparent ride cymbal and snare drum comping. Four thoughtful musicians playing separately and together at the same time. Jazz lives.

  • One more amazing thing about listening to fine jazz on youtube: (apart from the magnificent music of course) just have a look at comments. Polite ways of presenting opinions, respect towards other users... Now try a pop song.

Result: love this music, love people who listen to it.

  • Great comments on this video. I'd also like to draw attention to Jim Hall's great accompaniment. He leaves space for the track to swing, which is an art in itself.

  • 2 of my fav's....brilliant!!!

  • ... a good example of why Jim Hall (as modest and unassuming as he is) ought to be in anyone's top 5 best jazz guitarists of all time.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent Paul Desmond. One of jazz's true originals; the whole group plays great but for me, Paul Desmond at his best blows my mind; he had concepts all his own
