  • i got a question about upgrades my current g4 specs are. 500mhz sawtooth 1gb ram 80 gig hdd dvd-rom ati-rage pro 10.4.9 which is the faster processor? 1.2ghz owc 2meg cache 7455b or 1.6ghz newertech 512k cache 7447a
  • go with the 1.2ghz or if you can afford $40 more then go with the 1.5ghz proc.

the newertech may be "faster" but the 7455 makes up for it in the 2mb cache and is cheaper :D

  • I got 3 Powermac G4's in the trash, no memory or hdds, but they all work.

  • nice find!! you could sell 2 and put money into 1 of them to get a very powerful machine that will last a long time

  • hey, i dont know if you can help with this but here i go.....

i would like to know if its possible to upgrade my b&w g3 to a g4 processor, or is it possible to upgrade to accept the new mac ox leapard... thanx for any help you can give me

    nick

  • yes, you can upgrade your ZIF processor. the maximum speed is a 1GHz G4. another choice is a 1GHz G3 or 550MHz G4.

    I'll PM you with websites.

  • LAME!!!

  • Nividia? It's pronounced En-vidia.

  • I know that this is a old video and that you have already found out.

The power on chime (bong) is in the hardware and not in the OS, but if you mute or turn down the volume all the way while in the OS it will make the chime (bong) do the same. I own a Digital Audio G4 so i know that no version of OS X disables the chime (bong) on power up unless you adjust the volume all the way down.

  • what model of monitor do you have

  • the bong isnt tuned off by 10.4!!! check whether youve tuned down the sound in 10.4! ^^

  • Yeah I noticed that? What is that, 'cause it looks like FireWire.

  • yea

  • you have to connect the power (a standard pc cable), the vga monitor (a pc one), usb mouse and keyboard and thenetwork (standard ethernet)

  • dude plz help wherever you are.. my bro sent me a POWER MAC G4 (FAMILY NO. M5183) and I don't know how to connect the wires coz I'm a PC user. Can you make a video how you connect all those wires plz ? coz I hate to go to shops and set it up for me......

  • at 5:45 at the right of your hand, is that a fire wire port?
