Speaking on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree called on her colleagues to pass significant health care reform before going home for recess.
This populist rhetoric about taking on the big evil corporations is getting old. Those big corporations have helped make our country the strongest and most prosperous nation in the world. Remember, it was the free market that put us where we are today, and since the inception of numerous social programs, we've slowed our progress and other countries are now catching up.
I live for the Congreeswoman from my district (or her staff) to remove my posts. I bring forth facts, and proof of what middle america is thinking, and I get, "Single Payer" retoric spewed in my face. Keep posting these videos of your true beliefs and I promise you, you will end up throwing yourself out of office. Signed a Vote from the 1st District of Maine. WISCASSET!
"I've been at those town halls,I've met with my constituents ever
since I got elected and during the summer as well and again I have to say the number one concern I hear from people is, it's awful dealing with the insurance company...."
I live in her district and I find it funny she says she is pushing for the public option and supporting policies as an outcome of what she is hearing at town hall meetings in her district when she never had any town hall meetings!
Thank you Congresswoman for your support of meaningful healthcare reform.
Your warning about allowing delay was right on target. We can now see the result of giving these very wealthy and single-purpose corporations this kind of room to operate.
Threats of violence, insults and misinformation are the tools of health care opponents.
Do not be afraid, We are on this path toward healthcare for all, and we will not be turned back. This is a civil rights issue, and We Shall Not Be Moved.
You're not taking on big Pharma or big Insurance or Republicans, Ms. Pingree. You are aiding and abetting Socialism; that means you are taking on the Constitution of the United States.
We are not, nor will we ever be, a Socialist Nation.
