A cat in Australia has been reunited with its owners on Wednesday after it was found 3,800 kilometres (2361 miles) away from home - and three years after it disappeared. (Sept. 16)

I know what you mean about cats though. My cat is a little devil to people she doesn't know or like (lol) but she's the biggest suck in the world. She's actually more like my moms cat then anyones, She's a huge suck to my mom, and always keeps her company. There's something relaxing about cats that I find most dogs don't have.

but that sucks that you had a bad experience with your cat. Hopefully it doesn't shy you away from cats forever.

as a little kid my dog, a huge german shepard named simba, would watch-out for me, knew when i was down, tried to cheer me up and always wanted to play

my cat would scratch and draw blood if it wasn't in the mood while simba, even when i hurt him, would never hurt me back

i really loved both when little but by the time i was in jr high, i only loved dogs & tolerated my cat who my mom liked,lower maintenance

yeah dogs do require more, like kids, but give so much more back

Ya, I guess you're more a dog person. Though I love both just as much, the only difference I see is that dogs tend to require more attention to needs, while cats can mostly take care of themselves. But they both need love and attention, that's how you get an animal to actually appreciate you.

You'll be surprised how much a cat can have the dog like qualities you mentioned.

It also depends on what bread the cat is, just like dogs.

but in my view, the "ups" minus the "downs" for cats is a big negative, especially when compared to dogs

dogs are loyal, loving, devoted, clever, obedient, emotional, protective, forgiving or in other words, better versions of us and everything cats are not

that's just my opinion bro. i know and can tolerate whose opinions differ and those who share my opinion

but i have to admit, i'm a bit less likely to trust someone that does not like dogs
