Type a name: The Houses of Parliament played host to the official launch of British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) in October 2008.

Guests included Andy Burnham MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport and David Lammy MP, Minister for Higher Education who spoke at the launch about the importance and impact of university sport on the sporting landscape.

Other guests and speakers included Dr Tim Brabants, Steve Rowbotham and Christine Ohuruogu, Olympic medallists and university graduates as well as Dame Kelly Holmes and BUCS President, John Inverdale. All guests were invited to give us their thoughts on university sport, the benefits of a sporting career and what sport meant to them.
