E-bay and €33/$48 delivered so I suppose i got what I paid for, bought it just to have a reference point and I must say it's not a bad product, has a light sensitive back light and is quality made (very well finished) and a nice tripod mount on it, thanks for the answer I have been researching SPL since and man is it a science, first comment is right you would need scientific equipment to get an accurate measurement and I suppose it depends on the atmosphere also :P thanks for your input

Cool a comment, thanks for your input, I was reading on the package that it has an accuracy of plus or minus 3dB @ 1kHz, this means it could be way of, like twice as loud or half as loud, am I correct? If so you are spot on, I'm just an enthusiast, what meter would you recommend if any?
