At the cores of many galaxies, supermassive black holes expel powerful jets of particles at nearly the speed of light.
Just how they perform this feat has long been one of the mysteries of astrophysics.
The leading theory says the particles are accelerated by tightly-twisted magnetic fields close to the black hole,
but confirming that idea required an elusive close-up view of the jet's inner throat.
Now, using the unrivaled resolution of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory's Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA),
astronomers have watched material winding a corkscrew outward path and behaving exactly as predicted by the theory.

  • @FigBranchom is it possible to time travel wid the help of the black hole theory ?

  • @sidisbored Currently they say yes, however, surviving it is the trick.

  • Can heat escape a black hole? Can light escape a black hole? Light is a frequency as so is radiation so is it the magnetic field that keeps the light/radiation from escaping or is it gravity? Recent experiments show that light/plasma is effected by magnetic fields, so Einstein was wrong by saying, "gravity of a black hole is so strong that not even light can escape", when in fact the magnetic field is the reason? Does the orientation of a BH's magnetic field determine the shape/type of galaxy?

  • What makes the magnetic field of a black hole so strong? Is that not direct or indirect effect of the gravity? I think that the shape and type of a galaxy are determined by both the black hole and the dark matter/energy that surrounds the galaxy, and possibly the location of other galaxies in it's vicinity.

  • @nadiros222 i think you meant quasar

  • @sidisbored Sid i oppose fig's reply,if he's suggesting time travel through wormholes,as they only exist in theory.

  • maybe someday we will be able to shrink matter into subatomic particles and enter black holes

also, has anyone ever been in a black hole(of course hes dead)

  • @FigBranchcom damn . is it ? im gonna fucking find out how to survive . thats what im about bh whether its time travel or warp to another universe

  • bill gurd the science nerd

  • what you showed here is not a black hole. this is a quazer. it's far more powerful then the black hole and the black hole can't be seen.

  • @FigBranchcom same

  • they say you can never be swallowed into a black hole. its not a matter of if you can survive but if u could even go into it. you need to look at in a certain perspective to understand where im coming from. imagine distance, distance can always be divided by 2, no-matter how small it gets. so in theory you can never reach the center of the black-hole.

  • the jets are just sucked up matter traveling backwards through opened up time through closed up space..think about it....time only travels in a strait line forward....when a black hole is formed..space becomes like time and time becomes like space........its hard to understand...but i know im right...im working on theories...
