Some time in the future, humanity uncovers lost technology on Mars. Two devices with the ability to physically alter living beings are among the discoveries and scientists set up a lab on Mars to experiment with them. Colonists are also sent from Earth to establish a base. The scientists exploit some of the colonists to use as experimental test subjects for the two devices - one device kills all who are exposed to it, the other device turns the subjects into vampires. Eventually, the scientists get around the problem of the first device by exposing human embryos to before they are fully developed. Two twins boys are born this way, then, later, a girl. The series centers around one of these "Crusniks" named Abel as he first terrorizes the world in retribution for twisting him and then has a change of heart after his twin brother, Cain, murders their mother (at least, I think that's the background story).
If any of you have seen this series before, you will notice that I changed the ending. I really enjoyed many of the the themes that appeared in the series and appreciated that it got pretty close to being a Christian anime. It explores what it means to be human and stresses redemption and grace as well as displaying raw evil. The part I hated was the ending. I do not think there was any need to revive Abel with an injection of nanomachines just so that he could fight Cain in a battle where neither side wins so that it only leaves the series incomplete. In this AMV, I left off where Abel dies and where those who knew him continue the battle because of his inspiration. I hope you'll agree this is a better ending.
The AMV starts off with a two minute clip before it actually gets to the music by Theocracy. I know it is long, but I felt it set the stage for the series.
Music starts around the 2:00 mark (just in case you get bored with the first part).
