  • Doesn't being out in the sunlight help our vitamin D levels?

  • @Smithpolly Yes, it does. And in moderation, that's fine. But it also causes skin cancer... I guess my motto is "all things in moderation".

  • @NeoDolph1n Absolutely in moderation.. But sunlight clearly has more of an effect than just on the psyche. It causes actual physical changes in the human body. Sunlight can be said to have healing abilites in the sense that vitamin D deficiency causes harm to bones and being out in the sunlight increases vitamin D levels. And since this is scientifically proven and not just a mumbo jumbo idea , I think that part of the video should to be changed.

  • @Smithpolly I disagree that preventing vitamin D deficiency counts as "healing". The simple fact of the matter is, our body evolved in the sunlight and came to rely on it to a certain extent. That's not healing, it's a required part of our environment.

Admittedly that's purely semantics, but even to the extent that I admit your argument has some merit, I'm not going to re-record the video just for that (and the original was lost in a HD crash)

  • @NeoDolph1n If vitamin D deficiency causes illness and going out in sunlight cures that illness, that's healing. And sunlight clearly has more of an influence than just on the psyche as you say in your video. Up to you, if you want to change it or not, but given that the video will be taken as a whole, if people spot flaws in one part of it, that will damage valid arguments that you make in other parts.

  • Since the number one cause of deforestation is agriculture, I judge organic food on its crop yield per acre before anything else, and it doesn't do so hot in that category

  • I haven't looked into it, to be honest. You might very well be right, and in principle I prefer natural sweetener to artificial sweetener. But I have 30 pounds weight loss that says it does make a difference, at least to me.

Maybe it's just that I drink too much coke...

  • Sugar is, unless your diabetic, better than artificial sweeteners, in every regard, as far as I can tell.

Want to lose weight? Avoid artificial sweeteners.

Want to eat healthily? Avoid artificial sweeteners.

Want to consume stuff that tastes well? Avoid artificial sweeteners.

  • 9:20 I can understand the use of artificial sweeteners, if you are diabetic, but for weight loss?

The belief that artificial sweeteners is good for weight loss is a baseless myth. (see Sugar_substitute#Controversy_over_health on wikipedia, or google it or both)

This is also a reason I thoroughly despise stuff with "no sugar added" (like juice with only the natural sugar), that has added sweeteners.

They are no good for diabetics, only for fools who think it'll help them stay in shape.
