I'm probably going to get the spelling wrong, but I'm 99% sure that instrument is a DelVeccio. It's a resonator type guitar, & someone on here might have more history on it. He used it a lot on his '60's recordings. I know Earl Klugh caught onto those & has a custom built version of it or did have on some of his work as well.
One of Chet's albums I think is called "My Favorite Guitars", & he did a cut of "Josephine" with his DelVeccio. Hot.

This is very good old music !

One more example of the many times he did it, taking a popular tune that many have recorded, but making it sound unique and very special. No wonder he was called "The Master".

This song really is warm and delicate, no less so with Chet playing it. The man could make almost any tune live a new life that was better, and he did this one royally!!! Thanks for posting.
