Slug on his writing process

Sean Daley a.k.a. SLUG, mc for ATMOSPHERE, treated his hometown to a sit-down on his life in music, his creative process and a few editorials he needed to get off his chest.

Making Music is a series produced by the Whole Music Club at the University of Minnesota. It features long-format discussions with talented musicians about their art. Musician JG Everest (Lateduster) hosts the show, which includes interviews, live demonstrations, videos, exclusive and unreleased tracks, prizes and Q&A from the audience.

Seventeen-year-olds can sense honesty as well as anyone can. I haven't heard his new stuff; haven't really listened to him in years, but when I was fifteen his music meant something to me. It was the relief of hearing something real in a sea of candy coated crap. It said things I was afraid of saying myself. I'm twenty now. Still just a kid, right? How could I find his music relatable? Real life is always relatable. It's just a matter of stripping off the bullshit.
