I'd say the BMW came off... less horrific, because at least it landed on its four wheels, whilst the Volvo landed on its roof making the rescue even more difficult. But, to be brutally honest, the abrupt deceleration alone would be enough to kill the occupants in both cars.

the speedometer on the BMW is at 80mph at the time of the crash BTW.

nice !, but will it blend ?

This cuts through the Volvo marketing bullshit. The V70 did badly in the Euroncap frontal crash test back in 1997. Before that everybody believed the bullshit they were spoon fed.

i would have simply jumped out the sun roof before impact.

Volvo is owned by China entirely now? The other end of the safety question here is, which vehicle could avoid the accident with more naturally forgiving driving dynamics - passive and active safety seems best balanced by the Benz, the BMW more fun and skillful, the old volvo a passively tough but more likely to spin out when you need to get around surprise... not sure but that's my shave and a hair cut (two bits)

if a car goes 60 mph into another car doing the same speed it IS like a car going 60 mph into a solid wall. Plus the tv series MYTHBUSTERS tested this and it confirmed that i'm correct.
BTW, you would normally have had time to break, before that happened, slowing the speed even more... unless both drivers were either asleep, or passed out at the wheel....

@EdwardSinclair ok probably, but if we increase the speed, for example u are drivin 80mph and start to break? this video jut show what happens in that particular speed. :)
