@blammo7100 Travis wasn't hit with an assault rifle, he was shot with a few times with probably a 9mm or 40sw pistol and then stopped it's attack and shortly died after it made it's way to the house bleeding to death.

@blammo7100 i never said that i said the chimps had a rush of adrenaline giving them more strength and you said the chimp 'PULLED' that weight not lifted since chimps lack leg strength and humans have stronger legs so we can lift heavier wieghts but like you said they pulled that weight so i wouldnt say they lifted 700ibs more like 400-500, and yes a chimp would beat a human in a benchpress but not a deadlift

Meh, who cares about who is stronger. I'd roll up on that island with a .38 revolver. The first chimp that hits me is getting his face shot off. Next thing you know, the other chimps are scared and don't know what to do. Respect out of fear happens.
Strength or no strength, they don't have the intelligence we do. By the way, as we've evolved, we've made our lives easier. Hence less need to work to survive. So less strength. More apple products and air conditioning :)

@DMTSbreakz Anyway what recent tests? Send me a link then. I trained as a bodybuilder myself for 10 years, weighed 200 lbs and could bench 330 lbs. I used to be able to pull 200 lbs one-handed (anymore and the weight just fell out my hand). This was despite doing grip training. I also worked in a gym for 7 years, and im telling you that an average man would struggle to lift 100 lbs one handed due to lack of grip. Now if the chimp was 4 times stronger than i was - work it out!

@DMTSbreakz I have googled it loads of times! Who said 9000 times, i said a while back '8 times stronger per pound' than us. Anyway, it doesn't matter when the experiments were done - the facts speak for themselves. Chimps and humans haven't changed since 1924 have they?

Guys, guys, guys. A large Alpha male chimp like Travis has strength FAR beyond the likes of any world class powerlifter or professional strongman on this planet. Jon Paul Sigmarsson once did a one hand deadlift with 500 lbs (he weighed 300!) In Bronx Zoo, a 165 lb Chimp pulled 847 lbs one handed. Also a female chimp weighing 135 lbs then pulled 1260 lbs in a rage! MMA? Travis got shot by police with an assault rifle and simply walked off! Ok, he eventually died...seriously fight a chimp? NAH!
