  • The arrangement and performances are simply amazing. (Heck, the entire album is amazing!) It's almost as if the song bleeds pain, the weight of life...and yet, there's always hope... love it. One of the best blues songs ever recorded.

  • ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC!

  • SENE - THE GIVER

  • This is the most haunting, reflective and soul searching song I've ever heard. I'm not ashamed to say this song brings tears to my eyes every single time I hear it. And I can't get enough of it. Late at night, all the lights are out, and as I listen to this song, I cry like a baby as if it's a cleansing of my soul. Intensely sad and absolutely beautiful all at the same time. Great post.

  • Makes me appreciate spirit on the deepest level. I cry with respect each and every time I hear this...from teenager to Senior, it still stirs my soul...Thank you Mr. Donald Byrd for touching me life in such a deep and special way.

  • Godly

  • @tkwagner2000 One Sunday morning I awoke to hear this playing and I felt like a bit of Heaven was surrounding me... I knew this piece well already and I was in L.A. County Jail at the time, and I'll never forget it.

thank you Donald Byrd...and thank you Harvey Mandel for writing it. After it was over, they changed the radio station to something else, i forget.
