Alexandre Dumas DOES have to do with the Nutcracker as it was based on his version of this tale (originally I think from E.T.A. Hoffmann). Though I don't quite get the biographical note on Dumas either, it is somewhat ill-fitted, I agree...

Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels. He was born near Oaris in 1802 and 'coincidentally' in 1902 The Society of Jesus(Jesuits) were expelled from France for the third and last time. In 1848 Alexandre Dumas pere wrote The man in the Iron Mask and 'coincidentally' in the same year The Society of Jesus(Jesuits) were expelled from France for the second time. The Jesuits have been expelled from 82 countries.
