Marilyn, I believe, was just a character. She knew what she was doing. I've seen outtakes from some of her later movies,, She diddn'ts speak like "Marilyn"" at all. Spoke very well, nice very,,, sounded very smart. Hollywood is a funny place. You have to create an on-screen persona to have a career.

i never understood why everyone was so gaga over her...now i get it

@DoItLikeMonroe ugh you're totally misunderstanding what i'm trying to say. i'm not stifling her creativity, i'm saying quite literally it was hollywood that 'created her' -not the actual character itself: i'm talking about her career and what she was defined as. i have great respect for the woman, she's one of the most fascinating people in modern history to me. it was forced upon her as in she couldn't be any other way because that's all her fans were exposed to. :P

@colbygarrrett @colbygarrrett No, dear, nobody forced that upon her. If you did any research you would know that she chose the name Marilyn Monroe and started dying her hair blonde when she divorced her first husband, before Fox had signed her. She was just a very great actress and new what the public wanted to see and would find interesting. Eventually she got annoyed by always being the dumb blonde and refused roles that Fox kept giving her because that's what they expected her to be.

@DoItLikeMonroe hollywood forced that upon her. it was not a choice. i don't need to google that to know basic knowledge, dear.

She was very lovely!
so many actors and actresses are remembered for being a character, but I think Marilyn is remembered for being herself. in that respect, she is immortal.

'marilyn monroe' was created by hollywood. her hair was bleached, her mole was penciled in, her nose was clipped. to understand the fascination that surrounds her, you need to take into effect that in this interview shes acting as a character. her whole life she acted. in films she was a character playing a character! the fascination is how effortless it came to her. how easily norma could play marilyn. marilyn killed norma. it's all a psychological thriller waiting to be written ;)
