  • I hope you dont store the bags inside the compression sacks. it can damage the insulation and decrease the longevity of the bags.

  • I think that a wool blanket would be much better.

  • @beast12101 yeah not a piece of kit to just let sit on the shelf unless you have money to burn. I wring every penny out of the stuff I get, so the pricey stuff is somewhat (at least that's what i tell my wife :D )

  • check out the bags by valandre. sick bags. their model "bloody mary" has a few included interchangeable draft collars to regulate heat for temps ranging from +40F down to -10F. Throw in a good sleep pad and any wind-blocking shelter, and you can go down another 10 - 20 deg below that. Stuff size is wicked small, so packing it along on any journey is easy. my ultimate bug out sleeping bag.
