This is a follow up to my "Rigging and Weighting" tutorial. I made this since some people wanted to know how to rig a character. I hope this shows the basics and gives you an idea. NOTE: Watch http://www.youtube.com/user/JClayCast#p/a/u/2/Bc5yP8eXI-M first

YouTube likes to cut off the last few seconds of my videos . . . all I say is a heartfelt goodbye.

A lot of people have trouble pressing the "bind" button. Before posting a comment asking how to bind, check these common mistakes (and follow the video carefully):
-Is the model editable before adding bones? Select the model and press C or go to Functions - Make Editable
-Don't add joints as children of the model. The Root Null bone should be its own object, then select all bones and the model (not the NURBS, the actual model)

  • @OldShackProductions check the options. I believe there is an add/erase menu option.

  • Im sorry but im new to characters in cinema 4d how would i add skin to the charcter when im finished adding the bones i cant find a tutorial anywhere could you help me out somehow?

  • @strikeBOXproductions when you bind the mesh to the joints it automatically creates the skin tag as a child of the mesh.
