@gemtube2008: Stupid rules are stupid rules regardless if they have been there for centuries. En passant is not that annoying but the 3 repeated moves leading to a draw rule is simply retarded. A cornered king should not be able to do a little dance and get a draw.

i did a little investigation, look this This rule was added in the 15th century when the rule giving pawns the option of initially moving two squares was introduced. The rationale is so that a pawn cannot pass by another pawn using the two-square move without the risk of it being captured.

well, if more than 20 years is a "new rule" ok. and i said 20 because im that old and since i play chess i know that move. i guess is far more old, but yeah, you need to be a good chess player to understand that move is not a stupid move
