Clear Automation designed and built this system to place caps on fragrance bottles. Trays of caps are loaded in an elevator. The bottom tray is fed to the robot and the elevator indexes downward to prepare the next tray to enter the cell when the current tray is empty. Fragrance bottles travel through the filling and packaging system in pucks. As pucks enter this cell, two are clamped near the robot. A Fanuc 200iC 5-axis robot picks two caps from the tray and places them onto the clamped bottles. The bottles are released and a tamper assures that the caps are seated properly. The trays are designed with an odd number of caps in each row so once per row only one cap is picked. This system places 45 caps per minute, 24 hours per day.
