My favorite violinist, the great Pina Carmirelli, a Vivaldi, Boccherini, and Beethoven specialist. Together with Gioconda De Vito, Carmirelli was Italy's greatest violinist of the 20th century. She was capable of getting out of the violin an extremely sweet sound. Her vibrato technique was superb.

Quando ero ragazzino l'ho ascoltata da vivo varie volte, prima nel Concerto di Ildebrando Pizzetti (S.Cecilia) diretta da Bruno Aprea, poi con i Musici.
Violinista di altissimo livello.

@ornatirules Indeed! I am surprised that few people know of Carmirelli. Over the years I have been searching on the Internet information about her, but it is very little what I can find. However, that information has increased. I am glad I found someone with similar taste! Keep in touch if you find something! Have you heard her rendition of Telemann's 12 fantasies?? Simply the BEST!!!!

Thank you very much for this rare video of such great violinist: in my opinion the best Italian violinist of the 20th century, together with Gioconda de Vito. Carmirelli's playing has a sweetness, which is unique. Her Vivaldi and Boccherini performances are among the very best, if not the best, that have been recorded (together with similarly great Mariana Sirbu). Please, post more of her videos. Where can we find more? Thanks, again!
