@four4321 Not innovative? Claypool's style can be recognized in a second from any common musician. You an hear something and say "that sounds Claypool-esque." He made the bass guitar meaner than the electric guitar. Hes innovative withot a doubt.

Les probably is th best bassist ever, but he never really was very innovative. There are the greats like Enwistle who were never as fast or loud as les, but they pushed rock so far, so next time you are arguing about two bassist, take that into consideration
