  • This guy has the perfect voice for chess analysis lol. Great video.

  • Excellent analysis; informative, fast-moving, clear and interesting. As someone mentioned above, some opening videos would be a great addition. I recommend leaving Queen's and King's til later because there are so many variations, but maybe start off with some more usual Bird's positions and also the Caro-Kann?

    Keep it up

  • the black pawn sacrifice second move was wrong move. even a blind man know that . single pawn sacrifice without any any motive may turn game into loose.

  • why should black pawn have to sacrifice first. in this video you said white have excellent move but made the black move like so stupid

  • @canran Total crap again

  • you shouldn't ruin the outcome of the game at the beginning.

  • As for this game showing the bird opening is better than its reputation because of the game white got ..... well,

    1) black played the beginners - Nh6 move - illogical and does nothing, so this game shows nothing of the opening.

    2) of course it's playable. I mean, worst case scenario, white can avoid the from and transpose to the king's gambit with 2.e4.

    Nice review.

  • 14.Na4 seems like a strange move. Black should 14...Be7 and W has the knight in Sidelined.

    If W tries 15.c3 Bxf3 16.Bxf3 Bh3, he has a problem to maintain a large advantage:

    1) 17.Rf2 ?! 17...b5 and the only way to save the knight is 18.d4 Rg5 19.Nc5 which gives black the pawn back - 19...Bxc5 20.dxc5 Rxc5

    2) 17.Rg1! maintains some advantage, because at the end of the line given before - 21.g4! gives black some problems, but black can just 20...Bd7 and white's center has been dealt with.

  • I really like white's 12.Bf4.

Black's cooperates too much after that.

    I prefer either 12...Bd6 or 12...Ne6.

Black wants to make his piece mobilization fast as hell (with 12...Bd6) or hinder white's (with 12...Ne6). If he can do that, he may be still in the game, Maybe. Of course it's bad for him , but it seems like his best chance to me.

  • I didn't mention the reason for exchanging on f3 instead of g2 in my previous post - it's for luring the rook to a place where Ne5 would come with tempo (and would also defend against Qf1 if white plays it immediately). THat's a big difference.

  • 10...Nf5 is a logical move. Nothing strange about it -

identify the problems in the position and fix them - (in this case - the sidelined knight).

    I don't like the idea of 12.Ne2. Make a small change in your line: 12...Nxf3 13.Bxf3 Bxf3

B wants to exchange despite the material deficit. 14.Rxf3 Qd7 and it's interesting.

B has full piece mobilization and the absence of the W bishop makes the king a bit open.

White is still better, but black seems to have a nicer position than he should have.

  • fantastic, very clear!!
