  • He has nice shoulders. It's good that a teacher has the attributes that he asks of you. His shoulders are within 1 or 2 inches of his chin level. Lengthen the spine, free the neck, balance the head with one's ears above their shoulders. Then lift the shoulders and have the sternocleidomastoid muscles pull up the chest. It is not easy to change decade old habits . But one must be who they want to be. Don't let people or this difficult change detract from what you want to achieve.

  • The best excersize you can do is the "scapular wall slide" which makes you place each part of your spine (all parts touching) the wall while standing. Each and every part of your spine MUST touch the wall, which in itself is a challenge. Try breathing deep .... it feels like oxygen is pumping right through your system while maintaining STRAIGHT posture. Hold for 20 seconds. Then walk ...... the best excerize I have done !! And my back is straight with no pain.
