  • Yeah I think that's the best the thing to do is to learn F2l intuitively, without algorithms, and then for cases like that, where the intuitive way of doing it is ridiculously long compared to the algorithm, learn that and do it, There are quite a few other special cases like that where the algorithm is much faster than the intuitive way of doing it, Thanks for pointing that one out, I'm gonna go learn it now :P

  • cool.. I have a new record now -- 27.10. I'm learning to do all of the tricks of f2l from different angles. The olls and plls are doing very well.. but, f2l is still the beast.

  • hi :)

thanks, that's actually exactly the way I do it when I speedcube. I should have mentioned that the algorithms I show are by no means optimal, you are correct. I was trying to show a foolproof way of doing it so that people new to F2L can just understand what is going on.

Anyways, glad to hear I helped you out, keep cubing, I'm impressed by the speed you learned the OLLs and PLLs at, I was very lazy for a very long time and spread it over like 5 months :) cya!

  • good to hear from you, Bad. I'm very impressed with you vids and your knowledge of cubing. Would you do me a favor and watch my other vid. It's a random solve. About 47 seconds. My best is 33.63.. and I average about 50 now.. I'd love to get your advice on how I can speed up. I've got all the OLLs now except 4. And they're a pain. thanks man! and keep up the good work.

  • Everytime i try this it just screws up can someone help

  • What would the alg be for the left side

  • f2l is definately still a best for me also, my new record a few days ago is 27.47 with 13 PLLs and two look OLL + the T permutation thing I learned from badmephisto and a few other OLLS that I learned. I'm completing f2l in either about 20 seconds or about 28 seconds, and it's rarely ever anywhere in between which is weird to me =\

  • You are right.

for this case it will be faster to use this alg.

but in badmephisto video he want to show how you can do F2L without using any alg.

If someone want to get fast he should use F2L algs in a few cases
