3 questions from Senator Ludlam
1) Proposed Mandatory Internet Censorship Scheme
The live trial has recently been completed The report has not yet been finalised The report will be be released in due course Existing laws introduced by the Howard Government remain in place One element of the policy includes examaning the introduction of ISP level filtering for Refused classification material Question appears to be based on comments from a University Professor who "knows nothing about Internet Filtering"
2) Additional accountability measures to guide material submitted to ACMA blacklist and public consultation on social issues
Discussion with some in the industry regarding enhanced practical measures to ensure confidence possibly an industry body may be an option and another possibility is a government committee
3) When will announcements be made and what proportion of RC material will be blocked
There has never been suggestion by the current government that Peer to Peer traffic could or would be blocked by this filter Senator Conroy hasn't received report and providing that this is what is being tested for statistics will be made available when the report is made available
