Such enthusiastic debate. A little background; I posted this video which I shot of a lifelong friend of mine as he was racing his own nephew. The Ford was built by this young man himself. He plumbed the turbo and fabricated some pieces to perpetuate the install of that as well as the NOS. At the time of the race, the nephew was perhaps 19 or 20 years old. I am indeed NOT a Ford fan! I simply give kudos to the kid for puffing smoke next to the "real" car.

if that chevelle had slicks (and not those gay rims as well), it wouldn't have been close. that being said, even though i hate ford, the 1 of ten million produced mustang did damn well. however, to hate on ford even more, take any 4 banger GM motor with said turbo and mods, which has been done and documented, you get the same results. it's no coincidence that hot rodders put chevy motors in their ford cars. been goin on for 50 years. there's a reason for that.....

I am a \n owner of both a mustang and a chevelle....so I can't say anything about either. Chevelles will always be my favorite car though, and that body style mustang will always be an embarrassment to ford in my opinion....looks too much like a rabbit.

I had 71 chevelle 454 way back in 1973....exactly like the one in this vid...same color, black rally stripes the whole deal....I thought it was the fastest thing on the road back then....until I got blown off by 340 dodge dart a buddy had built from the ground up engine was balanced, blue printed and bored to the hilt.....I gave him a good run from what I can recall....but he got me good in the end.....thanx for posting this vid...brings back good memories!!

Hmmm.. A turbo AND NOS.. Sounds like a ricer to me!!! Sorry, I'm NOT impressed. Put a blower and NOS on the Chevelle, run them again, and see what happens. THAT is why there is no replacement for displacement. Everything that can be done to a ricer can also be done to a big block. The difference is you don't need to do anything to a big block , it already makes a ton of power. That is why ricers are a stupid waste of money. Mustang wins... LMAO!!!
