WWII veteran William J Blackshaw reflects on his military experience in a video clip filmed by his son Peter. In this segment, he captures the experience of shipping across the Atlantic in 1942 in a massive convoy. The trip was marked by sea-sickness, a light attack by German pilots, and a bit of good humored mockery of the King of England. The convoy also captures the uncertainty of where one was to ultimately end up in the War. Many in my father's convoy ended up preparing and ultimately participating in D-Day while he ended up Africa and India.
