Come along for a ride inside my 72-volt electric vehicle. See how it accellerates and how it operates with no clutch. The windows are partially open as it has no air conditioning, and that is where the majority of the noise comes from that you hear.

  • Better watch the traffic, thing is so piss slow you pull out and get hit because you can't go anywere.

  • What the heck? I was staying at the speed limit. That is the same speed I'd drive in a gas car too!

  • Why do you need the transmission at all?

  • Because with only 72 volts, the max RPM on the motor is about 2,000. So if you want to go any faster, you have to shift gears. If I had 300 volts or more, then I could use a direct-drive without a transmission.

  • What im saying is, you make it out that it doesnt have much more power then what your showing, and that could be dangerous. Say you pull out and somone happens to be traveling faster then you think and you pull out in front of them and dont have the juice to get away from them. I didnt mean to come off baddly, I ride motorcycles so I think about traffic and things a bit more I guess. Why did you pick a 3,000lb 1g dsm over a lighter car though? That question did pop in my head.

  • good video - been wondering about the effectiveness or otherwise of clutchless use in an EV.

    impressive

  • You did that with the whole family on board? Pretty nice performance for only 72V!

  • Thats so cool!

Just love all of the electric conversion videos on YouTube

  • I love that electric motor sound.

  • haha it looks very cool.
