The horsepower is so impressive. Do you have redundant fuel systems to keep the filters from blocking? What do you do if the engines stop? You guys are so brave. Thanks for sharing these videos, they are fantastic.

great vid, I thought for a minute or so that ole Little Caesar's was going to make an encore appearance. Will be linking to this video in this coming week's Maritime Monday on gCaptain.

Cool Video! This must be where the change to pins pays off-we wire boats are wx bound while the pin guys go. While I admit the pins are a safer and more efficient way to go, a whole new breed of "tugboat men" are missing out on a major part of the industry. When the time comes to string one out on the hawser in an emergency, how many guys will have a Clue as to what to do. Sure, You can Always get away from the barge, but shortening up and picking it up-you DON'T learn that in pin school!

I hope you didn't have any new green deckhands on board or they would truly be GREEN! LOL.
is the nicole the sister boat to the Christian, or is the Meredith that is the sister boat? I can't remember. Either way, awesome video

The Nicole is the elder sister of the Christian and then the Meredith.

The only pin school there is, appears when you step aboard for the first time. You learn on the job. We all come from hawser and wire boats. The more ATB's we see will certainly strain the talent pool for hawser men, but it's the way things are going. The pin boat is a truly efficient means of dealing with weather. There are limits, but long after the hawser or wire boat has gone weather-bound, we're still underway. And that my friend is money in the bank.
