This is the ingame trailer of the game I developped in Dark Basic Pro for the NVIDIA Competition 2007.

Enjoy :)

  • Why was the FOV set so short?

  • @sivadfa Because it was really CPU demanding. In the final release, the FOV was increased but it is not shown in this video.

  • @UDun8

So was DarkBasic Pro worth it, or was it too limited. If it was, do you have any recommendations for other programs?

  • @Thing07

Dark Basic Pro is a very powerful tool with lots of plugins. It really depends on your knowledge (coding, modelling...). Dark Basic pro has all you need to create a game. If you need to create very specific things or you are not satisfied with its engine, you can use specific game librairies. If it's your first experience, I will recommend using Dark Basic pro.

  • @AlexBestGTA dark basic pro is free download it

  • one possible change: change the rpg to like a bazooka or any other rocket launcher that doesn't show the missile on the end :)

  • @UDun8 I had to say something, all these 13 year old kids who play call of duty just dont understand how hard it is. allof you out there saying "dood needz better graphics and stuf oh yea dont forget to make it more realistic and more guns" -everything you just said is WEEKS worth of work.

besides most of you out here probably couldnt make a game better than "PONG" to save your lives.

props to you man, keep posting videos! id like to see your next game/any updates you make to this one.

  • @100percentFAKER Thank you very much for your comment, it's the first time I read somebody who really understands games creation. You are absolutely true, a larger camera range drastically drops FPS.

  • @UDun8 I really like what you did with this, with the bullet animations when they hit a surface, the doors opening, especially how when you shoot the boxes and they fall over at 1:25 The rockets were very cool, especially when fighting that large enemy at the end.

although a larger camera range would have been cooler, it probably wouldve made it terribly slow :)

and LeCTODN, you obviously have never tryed to program anything before in your life. he probably spent a very long time on it

  • @UDun8 Alright, cool, cool, thank you very much! I shall follow your advice:D
