Maxxam/Pacific Lumber Co. used to hire extraction climbers to forcibly remove tree-sitters. These climbers are not officers of the law, nor are they deputized, yet the Humboldt Co. Sheriff's Dept. goes along with these unlawful arrests. This extraction video is from Greenwood Heights Rd. in Freshwater, CA; a tree-sitter named "Jungle"(now M.I.A.)was being cut out of his lockbox when "Phoenix" attempted to free-climb to the top. The extraction team of Eric Schatz & Co. stopped what they were doing so that they could violently apprehend Phoenix, as you will see in this 6-part series. These unlawful extractions are technically assault, battery, and kidnapping, since the members of the extraction team are neither officers nor are they deputized.

Hear who starts the swearing first? I'd have burnt you out or cut the tree down first simply out of spite since you all wish for the demise of the human race anyhow. As with spacecadet2u, your approach would have landed you in prison for murder. Nobody in our movement is wishing for the demise of the human race...might want to get familiar with the message before you open mouth, insert foot, next time.

What a jerk. MAXXAM is as dirty a corporation as it gets, but EarthFirst! idiots are actively resisting while engaged in criminal tresspass and fighting with professional climbers who can and do bring them down safely. This hippie stupidity endangers everyone involved and they never feel accountable for thier actions, despite the fact it is of thier own doing.

"Criminal trespass" is such a system perspective. The climbers are not officers, nor are they deputized; the climbers have tried to get deputized, yet the county refuses, most likely because they don't want the liability. Maxxam/PL are violating federal Endangered Species Act and Clean Water Act laws, so committing misdemeanor and infraction "trespass" laws is like breaking into a burning building to save a child inside. The climbers are committing assault, battery, and kidnapping.
