I suppose you could Olive's finally taking some initiative here, telling Popeye off even if it is superficial (and a dream).
This could almost be the precursor to the 80s toon "Private Olive Oyl", where she and Alice the Goon do go into the army as WACs and do pretty well. "Popeye, my mind's still made up! A girl has to learn to do some things on her own, and I get tired of you always having to save me! If Bluto's in the Army they MUST be desperate!"
Purists may scoff, I'm a completist.
