  • I love people that think they can guess the HP of a car just from watching a video. I mean really, you have no idea and you can't so shut up about it and just ask for a pic of a dyno sheet.

  • @Jlizel Listen man, I'm not the one shouting "gtfo" on a youtube video. All I was saying was 400hp is possible on a focus to all the naysayers. Because I'm in medical school I don't have the money to build my engine or I'd go 9:1, forged, turbo (and do it all myself, thank you)-- considering the whole doctor thing means I'm pretty smart and cars are pretty much big Lego sets. Go back to McDonalds and your Civic forums.

  • hey man.. i think this is friggen awesome.. what have you done with that thing!????

  • I don't see why so many people are doubting this video. Looks and sounds like a 400ish HP little car to me. I've driven enough of them to know.

  • actually, there is a kit for installing a 5.0 v8 into the focus that's supposed to use most of the stock components (don't know if its suggested though). The kit runs at about 20 grand but that should be easy money once you become a doctor.

  • Go to Focus Fanatics dot com and look in the Forced induction section.

  • 400 hp Zetecs are pretty common.

  • id say this car has 400hp, everyone dissing it saying its not has never drove a 400hp car. nuff said

  • 400hp or not the car is a beast amirite?

  • @kc88kc Bahahaha... no. People are always ragging on these cars. I've had mine since June of 2000 brand new and she still runs like a top all stock and pushing 104k miles.

  • @Eklipse113 Also, if you don't know anything about camshafts, you probably should start learning. It really is one of the most key components to building an engine, and really is the brains of the mechanical portion of it. Don't worry, this is only my hobby too. I am a computer nerd by trade. Just please don't waive around your credentials like you own the place, because nobody cares if you're a doctor. Personally, I think they get paid too much.

  • @Eklipse113 I know what you were referring to, I was merely referring to your statement being rudimentary. However, you just stated that you want an aluminum crankshaft (not sure they even make this for a focus, but if they do, it's a complete waste) and aluminum rods (really only for racing applications). You mentioned a turbo, but no aftermarket cylinder heads or porting which is really more important than adding more boost.
