db Tuned shows you how to replace your 06 STI Fuel Pump with an aftermarket pump. Paul gives great tips on how to do it right because there is a lot of little things amateurs could miss. Two parts
And after dropping $100 on the Walbro pump, I don't feel like dropping another $90 for the Subaru OEM filter. Not to mention I am frustrated that you cannot use the Walbro pre-filter sock with the new setup...why would Walbro make it so small?!?!?!?
Only bad thing is that I can't find any end-all on the service change interval for the in-tank fuel filters. Subaru dealer I called said they're good for the lifetime of the vehicle, yet this video says you should change it every 30k or 60k.
The bit about the 2.0 engines not having the fuel filter in the tank is not entirely correct. In 2005 they switched it to the tank just like in the video. So if you are one of the un-lucky ones like me that has a 2.0 WRX from 2005 then this video applies to you.
"this is where 3 hands would really come in handy" while camera man just sits there. lol
