ah, this was really an awesome game... i'm also reminded of other older scifi games that i enjoyed, like archimedean dynasty, crusader, etc.
but in the past 10 years or so, i don't think i've played a game like that. except mass effect. but IMO they screwed up the sequel to that so badly...

This game was pretty fucking amazing and never received the attention it deserved. 1995-1996 were the years when computer games started to suck.

Great game, but all these years later the music is a bit... freaky.

Nice! I remember the stats told u how many trees u'd destroyed! :)

Without it, we would have a different gaming market. Oblivion hasn't created anything, it has done what most modern games have done - taken away instead.

'Cause it has hills and trees? I don't understand how one makes such a connection.

hey, crazy question but I'm dying to know the answer: Does anyone here know how many extra characters you can get after some original members either die or leave? I thought I'd just get DeWitt, MacAlpine, and Steadman, but I ended up losing Steadman after one mission to end up with George Micklesford. I was just wondering if there was a way to see who else might've joined the team.

Awesome. Kind of looks like a paleolithic version of the Oblivion engine. :)
The really sad thing about this game is that it was overshadowed by the release of Quake and the 3-d Voodoo card craze, plus it was sort of marketed as a "big robot" game, and those had just gone out of fashion. However, what it really was was the first "squad based" shooter, with "power suits" (sort of like the nano suit in Crysis). It's probably the game that broke Looking Glass, since they put a lot into it and didn't get the sales. Damn ID (great though they are too)!
